Seville Historic District is a neighborhood in Pensacola, Florida in the 32502 zip code. The borders are South 9th Avenue on the east, East Zaragossa Street on the south, South Tarragona Street on the west, and East Chase Street on the north. A freestanding clock in the center of a traffic circle is one of the most recognizable features of this part of town. The streets are narrow, and many of the buildings are typical southern bungalows and shotgun-style dwellings. The entire area is pedestrian-friendly.
The Pensacola Museum of Art offers docent and self-guided tours of the exhibitions. The permanent collection is comprised of 20th- and 21st-century artists’ work. Among the featured artists are Pablo Picasso and Thomas Hart Benton. Saturday workshops are offered for children.
The Historic Pensacola Museum of Commerce is located in Historic Pensacola Village. Among the many exhibits in the museum is a downtown streetscape so that visitors can actually feel as if they are walking down an historic city street.
Historic Pensacola Village is one of the major attractions of this area. The Barkley House, which is the oldest high-house in the city, is located here.
Seville Square is a lovely green space in this historic area. Paved pathways beneath mature oaks with benches adorn this park. Colorful flowers add a lively touch. The square and the gazebo are the sites of festivals and musical events throughout the year.
Fountain Park is the location of the gorgeous Fleming Fountain that was installed in the park in the 1980s. The panels on the sides of the fountain tell the story of Pensacola, both past and present.
The Civic Center is the home to the local ice hockey team, the Pensacola Ice Flyers. Home games as well as many other events are scheduled here during the year.
