Home to an assortment of galleries, shops, eateries, bars and cafes, the downtown district is a bustling hub of activity with something to offer everyone. The Pensacola Museum of Art, which showcases several permanent and traveling collections from nationally and internationally acclaimed artists, is fewer than four miles from Goulding in the heart of downtown Pensacola. Other nearby historical attractions include the Civil War Soldiers Museum and T.T. Wentworth Jr., Florida State Museum.
Residents intrigued by aviation history can visit the world-renowned National Naval Aviation Museum, which boasts more than 150 restored aircrafts, a myriad of hands-on exhibits, and more than 4,000 Navy, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard artifacts. The Pensacola Lighthouse, dubbed one of the most haunted lighthouses in the country, is about 12 miles away and regularly offers ghost hunts and lectures as well as climbing tours of the historic Florida landmark.
Perhaps the biggest attraction the Goulding neighborhood offers is its proximity to the sugar-sand beaches of the Gulf of Mexico. Surfers, swimmers, sunbathers and shell-seekers can take a 10-mile trip to the southeast to enjoy white-capped waves, and watch for wildlife ranging from sharks and rays to manatees and dolphins from the Pensacola Beach Gulf Pier.
