Lincolnville Neighborhood

Bounded by Cedar Street, DeSoto Place, Riberia Street, Cerro Street, and Washington Street, Linconville is an historic neighborhood in Saint Augustine. Homes in this community date primarily from 1870 to 1920 and boast different architectural styles, among them Craftsman, Italianate, and Folk Victorian. Many homes have recently undergone stunning renovations to bring back the look of the bygone era.

The Lincolnville neighborhood is a walker’s paradise, since most amenities are within walking distance. Restaurants, museums, art galleries, historic churches, and shops are all just a short walk away.

Parents of school-age children have several schools nearby. Ketterlinus Elementary School is a few blocks away, off Orange Street. Cathedral Parish School offers classes from kindergarten through eighth grade and is just off Saint George Street. Trinity Episcopal Learning Center, an early learning center for age 2 through pre-kindergarten, is also off Saint George Street.

Lincolnville also boasts a variety of Victorian-era buildings. The Saint Mary’s Missionary Baptist Church off Washington Street features the Italian Gothic style, whereas Saint Paul’s AME off Martin Luther King Avenue was built in Gothic Revival. Other attractions are accessible on the Ripley’s sightseeing trains, which include fully narrated tours with stops in areas of historic interest.

Residents of the Lincolnville neighborhood have access to a variety of activities and events year round. Each year, the community celebrates its Linconville Heritage Festival, featuring food, hot air balloon rides, vendors, and music. The 15-acre Fountain of Youth Archaeological Park off East San Carlos Avenue has a planetarium, Native Timucua Village, two-story Discovery Globe, and picnic areas. In 1991, Linconville was listed in the National Register of Historic Places.
