Centerville Neighborhood

Tallahassee, the capital city of Florida, is at the northern edge of the state. Located less than an hour from the Apalachicola National Forest, Tallahassee and its residential communities are centrally located to parks, schools, and shopping.

Fifteen miles north of Tallahassee’s downtown is the community of Centerville. Located in the city’s 32309 zip code, Centerville is north of Interstate 10 and the Alfred B. Maclay Gardens State Park.

Maclay Gardens is a 1,000-acre state park featuring ornamental gardens that were originally planted in 1923 by Alfred B. and Louise Maclay. Visitors can stroll through the secret garden and enjoy the reflecting pool. The park has two nature trails, plus areas for picnicking and cookouts. Fishing, swimming, and non-motorized boating is allowed on Lake Hall. The park is about a 10-minute drive from Centerville.

Centerville, located in the area of Bradfordville Road and Pisgah Church Road, is semi-rural with wooded, sprawling lots. It is close to several churches and the Publix off Highway 319/Thomasville Road. The shopping area has a grocery store, pharmacy, Target, and restaurants. The Bradfordville Animal Hospital is just south of the plaza. Several service businesses, including banks and auto repair, are also located along Bradfordville Road.

Tallahassee schools are about four miles from Centerville. These include De Soto Trail Elementary School, Community Christian School, and Annsworth Academy, an early childhood development center. The latter two schools are both on Kerry Forest Parkway. The area around the schools has multiple restaurants and is minutes from the Walmart Supercenter on Thomasville Road.
