Terrace Park Neighborhood

A neighborhood of mostly, simple, one-story, ranch-style homes in the $75,000 to $150,000 price range, Terrace Park has one undeniable attribute—a great location adjacent to a major Florida state university, some of Tampa’s most important tourist attractions, and one of the area’s most visited shopping malls.

Located in the 33612 and 33617 zip code areas, Terrace Park is bordered on the north by the University of South Florida, on the south by Busch Boulevard, on the west by 30th Street and on the east by Temple Terrace. The Terrace Park neighborhood occupies approximately 2.6 square miles with a population of around 7,500.

The community has an active homeowners group called the Terrace Park Civic Association, Inc. that addresses key issues about growth and crime, and coordinates neighborhood special events.

Terrace Park is conveniently located to some of Tampa’s major tourist attractions. The Museum of Science and Industry (MOSI) is located on the northern part of the neighborhood, and Busch Gardens and Adventure Island are integral components of Terrace Park. MOSI is a 400,000 square foot complex with permanent interactive exhibits, The Saunders Planetarium, a Bio Works Butterfly Garden and Florida’s only IMAX Dome Theatre. Busch Gardens is an African-themed adventure park with thrill rides, shops, and restaurants. Adventure Island is a 30-acre water park with slides, waterfalls, a wave pool, and more.

You’ll find lots of Terrace Park residents shopping at University Mall at 2200 East Fowler Avenue, which is just a few minutes’ drive from the neighborhood. The mall has more than 160 shops and restaurants anchored by Macy’s, Dillard’s, and Sears.

For recreation purposes, the University of South Florida, which has 47,000 students, has a diverse athletics program, and residents have easy access to a wide variety of athletic events, from basketball to soccer, and from tennis to track and field.
