Bankhead-Bolton Neighborhood

The Bankhead-Bolton community is located between Hollowell Parkway and Bolton Rd. The community is largely made up of rental homes and apartment complexes, with rents starting in the mid-$500s for a one-bedroom unit. It is a pedestrian-friendly neighborhood that is well-served by Atlanta’s mass transit system, MARTA. There are bus stops and train stations scattered throughout the area, making it easy for Bankhead-Bolton residents to travel throughout the Atlanta metro area without a car.

Bankhead-Bolton is close to several of Atlanta’s famous historic sites. Author Joel Chandler Harris’s former home, the Wren’s Nest, and Gone with the Wind author Margaret Mitchell’s home and museum are located nearby. Other nearby landmarks include the Herndon Home museum, the Georgia Capitol and Museum (with daily tours), and the High Museum of Art.

Some of the best known colleges and universities are within 10 miles of the Bankhead-Bolton community, including three of the oldest schools in the United States to accept and admit African-American students: Morris Brown College, Spellman College, and Morehouse College. Georgia Tech University and a satellite campus of Clark Atlanta University will also be close to your new apartment in Bankhead-Bolton.

Atlanta is famous for its parks, so why not live close to some of them? Bankhead-Bolton will put you within 10 miles of some of Atlanta’s best parks. Piedmont Park, one of the city’s largest parks, is famous for its festivals and activities. This park also offers more than 180 acres of green space, walking and biking trails, and playgrounds. Grant Park, the oldest park in Atlanta, is a quick bus or train ride away. Grant Park is home to nature trails, green space, and the popular Zoo Atlanta.
