Reynoldstown Neighborhood

The large, close-knit neighborhood of Reynoldstown is located two miles east of downtown Atlanta, Georgia. The neighborhood was originally settled by freed slaves after the Civil War. Today, a strong community organization has revitalized the area and made it a fun, funky place to call home.

Gateway Park, a local community park that opened in 2002, features a steel sculpture built on a tile mosaic patio. This large, impressive sculpture welcomes visitors to Reynoldstown as they pass this triangular intersection. Grant Park is just one mile away and is the site of outdoor concerts as well as Zoo Atlanta and the Cyclorama.

The Wheelbarrow Festival has been taking place in Reynoldstown annually for 15 years. This fun event includes live entertainment, vendors, a BBQ cook-off, an art market, a silent auction, a kids camp, and a parade. All of the proceeds from this fundraiser goes toward neighborhood revitalization and public safety.
