Sherwood Forest Neighborhood

Sherwood Forest in Midtown Atlanta is a tight-knit community in Fulton County. This community has single-family homes as well as town homes. Sherwood Forest is located near very popular Ansley Park Golf Course. This 18-hole golf course requires membership, and is open all year around.

Several parks can be found near and around Sherwood Forest, including Prado at Inman Circle Park, Sidney Marcus Park, Hillpine Park, McClatchy Park, Piedmont Park, and Orme Park. These parks provide green space, grills for barbecuing, walking or riding trails, outdoor entertainment, and picnic areas.

Ansley Mall Shopping Center is also located near Sherwood Forest. This mall can be found at the corner of Piedmont Road and Monroe Drive in Midtown Atlanta. Just some of the shops in the mall are Pier 1, Intaglia Home Collection, Ansley Wine Merchants, The Toy Store, CVS, Publix, Radio Shack, The Cook’s Warehouse, LA Fitness and Starbucks.

Woodruff Arts Center is also in the neighborhood of Sherwood Forest. The Center offers a bold selection of performing and visual arts, both traditional and avant-garde. The Woodruff Arts Center is a center for the visual and performing arts in the South and is among the top such centers in the nation. The Woodruff Arts Center includes the Alliance Theatre, Young Audiences, 14th Street Playhouse, the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, and High Museum of Art, which is the leading art museum in the southeastern United States. It is renowned for its collection of classic and contemporary art and famous architecture. The porcelain-enameled building near Sherwood Forest holds the High Museum of Art’s collection of over 11,000 pieces of art. The museum has four interior levels, with galleries featuring 18th and 19th century collections near the ground floor, to the cutting edge of contemporary art on the upper levels.

The Midtown neighborhood of Sherwood Forest is easily accessible from Interstates 75 and 85, Highway 400, and the Brookwood Marta Station.
