Venetian Hills Neighborhood

Located within the larger West End section of Atlanta, Venetian Hills is a small, quiet community less than 15 minutes from downtown and all the major tourist attractions. It is a family-oriented community, with well over a quarter of residents living in a home with at least one child under 18. Because of the number of younger children in the area, eight elementary schools and three middle schools serve the the community.

Like many areas to the south of Atlanta, Venetian Hills and the larger West End area are steeped in history and are home to a large, prosperous African-American community. From its humble beginnings as a railroad town in the 1940′s, the West End has historically been one of the most culturally rich areas in the Southeast.

The West End is one of Atlanta’s up-and-coming neighborhoods. Part of the revitalization is due to the influence of locally-owned independent restaurants, bars, and shops that have helped unify the community.

Almost 97 percent of available housing in Venetian Hills consists of single-family houses. Occasionally, houses are converted into apartments suitable for singles and couples.
