Washington Park Neighborhood

Historic Washington Park is a picturesque neighborhood of Craftsman bungalows and cottages set back on their narrow lots, with long, manicured lawns ending at wide sidewalks bordered by mature trees. It is located two miles west of downtown Atlanta, Georgia.

Washington Park began in the early 1900s as an African-American community. Atlanta University Center borders Washington Park on the southeast side. It is also two miles southwest of Georgia Tech, one mile west of the Georgia Dome, and close to all of downtown Atlanta’s attractions, including Underground Atlanta, Coca Cola Enterprises, CNN, Philips Arena, and the Georgia Aquarium.

The historic park contains a large pavilion, picnic shelters, two playgrounds, trails, the Washington Park Natatorium, and the Washington Park Tennis Center.
