Habersham Woods Neighborhood

The desirable Savannah, Georgia, neighborhood of Habersham Woods is nestled between the midtown and south side areas, just to the east of Hunter Army Airfield. Habersham Woods is a meticulously cared-for community with tall mature trees, beautiful landscaping, and large lots. Homes in the area are traditional brick homes along with some modern architecture. Nearby communities include Oakdale and Groveland/Kensington Park.

Highway 204 is the main throughway that runs through Habersham Woods. The Harry S. Truman Parkway is also very convenient for residents, which makes commuting a breeze around the greater Savannah area. Historic Savannah is only about 15 minutes away, while south side shopping, just to the south on Highway 204, is only about five minutes away.

Savannah Technical College lies just west of Habersham Woods. This college offers over 70 associate and certificate degree programs. Savannah State University, or SSU, is situated just minutes east of the community. This university is one of the largest in the area and was the first institution of higher learning in Savannah.

Memorial University Medical Center and Georgia Regional Hospital at Savannah are the main health care providers in the area and are both within minutes of Habersham Woods.

The local YMCA is on Habersham Street and is situated within walking distance for residents. This YMCA provides exercise machines, weights, locker rooms, swimming pools, indoor basketball courts, and racquetball and squash courts. The YMCA also offers a variety of classes and programs for both children and adults.

For golf enthusiasts, Savannah Municipal Golf Course is located just to the east of Habersham Woods, while Hunter Golf Course lies to the southwest.
