Savannah Gardens Neighborhood

Savannah, Georgia, nicknamed the “Hostess City,” is home to the fourth busiest seaport in the US, several colleges, scenic parks, and a bustling historic district. Located in the 31404 zip code area is the neighborhood of Savannah Gardens, which lies south of East President Street and east of the Savannah Golf Club.

The Savannah Golf Club lies minutes from the Savannah Gardens neighborhood. The club is listed as the oldest golf club in America, having been established in 1794. A private, full-service club, it offers 18-holes of golf on a pristine course lined with 100-year old oak trees. In addition, the club has both tennis and pool facilities.

Savannah Gardens lies within walking distance of several eateries, Savannah High School, and the Juliette Low neighborhood park, named for the founder of the Girl Scouts of America. Juliette Gordon Low’s birthplace is in the historic district of Savannah, less than three miles west of Savannah Gardens. Low founded the Girl Scouts in 1912. Her home on Olgethorpe Avenue has the distinction of being Savannah’s first National Historic Landmark.

Less than two miles south of Savannah Gardens are three shopping centers. There is also a multi-screen movie theater and fast-food and casual dining restaurants. Across from the Victory Drive Shopping Center is the Savannah Community Theatre.

West of the shopping centers, about two miles from Savannah Gardens, is Grayson Stadium, which plays home to the Savannah Sand Gnats minor league baseball team. The stadium, built in 1926, is the oldest working minor league stadium in the US. It sits on the eastern edge of Daffin Park, which also has tennis courts, a soccer field, and a pool.
