Lincoln Park Neighborhood

Evansville, Indiana’s Lincoln Park is an urban neighborhood located at the intersection of East Walnut Street and South Weinbach Avenue. The downtown district of Evansville is located nearby to the southwest, only a few blocks away. Popular Evansville communities that encircle Lincoln Park include Rolling Greens, Timber Park, Greater Oakhill, and Garvinwood. Area commuters enjoy close access to the major local corridor, Interstate 164, which winds around the southern perimeter of the community. Local Highways 41, 62, and 66 envelope the Lincoln Park area as well.

Residents of this urban community have no shortage of green spaces and local parks for outdoor recreation. Bellemeade Bayard Park, Garvin Park, Akin Park, Sunset Park, the huge Wesselman Park Nature Center, and the Evansville Country Club are all readily accessible to Lincoln Park residents for jogs, runs, walks, picnics, golf games, and outdoor recreation and play.

The Lincoln Park community is comprised of a mix of single-family and multi-family dwellings. Many of the residences are established garden-style properties built from the 1930s to the 1950s. The area is assigned the 47714 zip code.

Lincoln Park is also fortunate to have several large employers in the vicinity. The University of Evansville sits just west of the Lincoln Park community, abutting the neighborhood. As a result, the area is popular with students, faculty, staff, and administrators of the University. Several blocks to the east is the Evansville State Hospital, another local employer. Several private medical practices also surround the hospital property.
