There is a mile-long, multi-use trail circling the park plus lighted tennis courts, an outdoor basketball court, and ball fields. The Poyntz Shelter is in the southern section of the park. This area has a sand volleyball court, horseshoe pits, and a playground.
Nearby schools are Woodrow Wilson Elementary, Manhattan High School East Campus, and Manhattan High School West Campus. Next to the west campus high school is the Sunset Zoo. Located less than two miles from Aggieville, the Sunset Zoo is home to a variety of animals plus a rain garden and two butterfly gardens.
