Located in the Fayette County School District, nearby schools are Stonewall Elementary, Jessie Clark Middle, and Paul Laurence Dunbar High. Shopping, dining and services are found along Harrodsburg Road with a Kroger grocery, a SONIC Drive-In restaurant and other retail businesses located at Harrodsburg and Bellerive Boulevard just south of Firebrook. Turfland Mall is a six-minute drive north on Harrodsburg Road. The Bluegrass Airport is only a 10-minute drive to the north and nearby golf courses include Keene Run Golf Club and Golf Club of the BlueGrass, both located south of Firebrook on Harrodsburg Road.
