North Upper Street Neighborhood

North Upper Street is in Lexington, Kentucky. The boundaries for North Upper Street are West Third Street on the south-west side, railroad tracks on the north-west side, West Sixth Street on the north-east side, and North Limestone Road on the south-east side. North Upper Street is in the Downtown area of Lexington.

The homes in the area are above the median price for the Greater Lexington area. Built in the 1920s and 1930s, the houses are brick, large, and updated. There are many town-homes and rentals in North Upper Street, as well as detached homes.

North Upper Street is convenient to Interstate 64, and there are several arterial streets near the neighborhood. It is only a few minutes by car to the University of Kentucky or downtown Lexington.

Lexington has man municipal parks and recreational areas. Castlewood Park and Aquatic center is three minutes from North Upper Street and has playgrounds, baseball diamonds, and a family pool. Jacobson Park has a four-acre enclosed and tree-lined dog park. Woodland Skate Park has 12,000 square feet of bowls and ramps for all levels of skaters and skate boarders.

Golfers like Lexington. There are municipal courses on all sides of the city, open for public golf. For those in the area with the means, the Lexington Country Club offers a breathtaking golf course, pool, banquet facility, and tennis courts in a country club setting.

Lexington is synonymous with thoroughbred horses. Keenland is a horse track in a beautiful setting where some of the most important racing competitions in the country are held. The Kentucky Horse Park is all about horses and offers camping, museums, parades, and riding classes.
