Brownsboro Zorn Neighborhood

Brownsboro Zorn sits just northeast of downtown Louisville and the Ohio River. Located in zip code 40207, the shape of this neighborhood resembles a puzzle piece. The neighborhood’s north border is Mellwood Avenue, which parallels Interstate 71 and Muddy Fork creek. The western boundary is River Dell Road, which runs south to Country Club Road. The southern border is Brownsboro Road, and, finally, the eastern border is a small portion of Mockingbird Valley Road at the north and then an imaginary jagged line that cuts south to meet Jarvis Lane.

This well-established neighborhood offers a mix of single family homes, condos, and apartments. Businesses concentrate on Brownsboro Road. Homes were built from 1910 to the 1980s.

Brownsboro Zorn is located in the Jefferson County School District. The nearest schools are Saint Joseph Alternative School, Barret Traditional Middle School (Magnet), Corden Porter Education Center, and Breckinridge Metropolitan High School.

The Robley Rex Veterans Affairs Medical Center is located at 800 Zorn Avenue, near the intersection of Mellwood Avenue. Both the Center and the neighborhood are easily accessible via the Interstate 71 on/off ramp at Zorn. Shopping includes a Kroger grocery store and The Greentree Mall. Greentree lies in Clarksville, Indiana, which is about a seven mile drive across the Ohio River via Interstate 71 and Interstate 65.

Near Brownsboro Zorn, just on the other side of Interstate 71, sit River Road Country Club and the Ohio River’s many riverfront parks. The Thurman Hutchins Park features walking paths, a fishing lake, a picnic area, ball fields, and a playground.
