Cambridge Neighborhood

The Cambridge neighborhood in Louisville, Kentucky is situated in a triangular area that is bordered by Hikes Lane on the west and north sides, Lowe Road on the east side and Taylorsville Road on the south of the community.

Homes in this neighborhood sit on lots where mature trees such as maples, oaks, sycamores, catalpas and tulip poplars offer shady relief on warm and humid summer afternoons. The vegetation draws birds to the neighborhood, such as sparrows, warblers and nuthatches, too.

Residents are also close to shopping, particularly at the St. Matthews Mall,(the oldest enclosed mall in Louisville), located at 5000 Shelbyville Road. The mall features over 130 retailers including major stores such as J.C. Penney and Dillard’s. Shoppers also can eat at a number of restaurants, including Panera Bread, Starbucks, and Cinnabon. Specialty stores include Brooks Brothers, Pottery Barn and Williams-Sonoma, just to name a few.

The Oxmoor Mall, located at 7900 Shelbyville Road, is also close to the community. The upscale complex has over 50 shops and eateries, including such retail favorites as Dick’s Sporting Goods, Old Navy, Coach, American Eagle Outfitters and Banana Republic.

Homes in the neighborhood are ideal for first-time home buyers or for anyone with an eye to renovation who’s looking for an older property to rejuvenate. Close to shopping, dining, and I-64, residents in the Cambridge neighborhood enjoy the convenience of living in this established and comfortable community in the Louisville metropolitan area.
