Lincolnshire Neighborhood
Lincolnshire is located in Jefferson County in Louisville. The borders of Lincolnshire are Browns Lane to the south, Edmonds Avenue to the west, McMahan Boulevard to the east, and Pembroke Road to the north.
While most of the town is a pedestrian-friendly one, there are some destinations that would be more easily accessible by car or bus. There are bus lines conveniently located near Lincolnshire if public transportation is needed to get to some areas of town.
Lincolnshire has two parks located within a two-mile radius. Brown Park is the closest with a mile-long trail for walking and hiking. There are duck ponds dotting the park, as well, although park-goers are advised not to feed the ducks. Next is Buechel Park, which is a mere two miles from Lincolnshire and has fields for baseball, basketball, and even a cricket pitch. For picnics here, there are also pavilions that shade daytime visitors from the summer’s sun and also make picnics and get-togethers especially comfortable when a cool, refreshing breeze blows through.
The schools are a mix of public, private, and alternative schooling. The Meredith-Dunn school is a private, special education school for students in grades 1-8. The Friends School is a private, alternative school for Pre-K through first grade. The Greathouse Shryock School is a magnet school for grades 1-5. The nearest public school is the Watterson Elementary School, with the Kennedy Metro Middle School also near Lincolnshire.
Barnes and Noble, Books a Million, and Borders are all located within a mile of Lincolnshire. All three retailers sell new, used, and discounted books and are a good resource for students at the University of Louisville, also located very conveniently near Lincolnshire.
