St Dennis Neighborhood

Formerly a census-designated place, St. Dennis became a Louisville neighborhood in 2003 when it was annexed to the city. This community consists primarily of residences along Cane Run Road and Dover Road, west of Interstate 264 and just a few miles east of the river and the Indiana border. St. Dennis belongs to Jefferson County, and is situated within the 40216 zip code. Neighboring communities include Shively and Riverside Gardens.

The St. Dennis neighborhood consists largely of single-family homes on well-shaded lots, but portions of the community are commercial. Schools within walking distance of St. Dennis include Wellington Elementary School on Kaufman Lane and Farmsley Middle School on Lees Lane.

A few miles northeast of the neighborhood is Shively Park. This community park is a popular destination for outdoor recreation and fitness. Among the amenities offered here are a softball or baseball field, four tennis courts, walking or jogging trails, a playground area, and plenty of open green space for other outdoor activities. A larger park – Iroquois Park – is situated roughly five miles southeast of St. Dennis.

Other notable attractions within roughly 10 miles of St. Dennis include the Louisville International Airport, the University of Louisville campus, and the downtown area.
