It extends roughly to Poplar Level Road and Jennings Lane on the west and Newburg Road and Jennings Lane on the east. Watterson Park is in the 40218 zip code area, within Jefferson County. Besides close proximity to the interstate, Watterson Park residents enjoy easy access to a variety of area amenities. The Louisville International Airport is just two miles west of the neighborhood. To the north, on the other side of I-264, are several options for higher education, including Bellarmine College and the University of Louisville. There are also a variety of parks and medical centers in this area, as well as the Louisville Zoo.

For local shopping, Watterson Park residents are less than one mile southwest of the old Bashford Manor Mall. The mall no longer stands, but it was replaced by a new retail area, which is anchored by a Wal-Mart and a Lowe’s. The nearby interstate also offers its fair share of shopping, dining, entertainment and lodging options.

More affluent residents of Watterson Park may belong to one of two country clubs situated within five miles southeast of the neighborhood. The Woodhaven Country Club or the Wildwood Country Club are situated next to one another, on either side of South Watterson Trail and offer top-notch golf courses, as well as a variety of other amenities.
