Greenwell Springs/Central Neighborhood

The Waddill Wildlife Refuge and Outdoor Education Center is a suburban escape for residents and visitors. The 237-acre hardwood bottomland borders the nearby Comite River, and its educational and entertaining programs are provided for students, educators, children, and families.

The Waddill Outdoor Education Center is 280 acres, which includes two ponds and a swamp for catch and release fishing. Trails, a picnic pavilion, an archery range, and a 130-seat classroom are some of the center’s features. Most of the center is ADA-accessible. Nature lovers will be delighted with the flora and fauna at the refuge.
