East Carrollton Neighborhood

Schools that serve the educational needs of the community located inside the East Carrollton neighborhood are the Benjamin Franklin High School, Audubon Charter School, Saint Andrews Episcopal School, University Montessori School, and the Robert G. McNair Elementary School.

Degree-seeking students in the East Carrollton neighborhood can attend Tulane University, which is located just outside the community’s borders. Tulane University is quite well-known among educational circles and was founded in 1834 as the Medical College of Louisiana. Remarkably, it has survived both the Civil War and the devastation brought on by Hurricane Katrina.
