Dobbins Air Reserve Base is located about 20 miles northwest of Atlanta in the suburban city of Marietta. The base was built in 1941 and is currently part of the Air Force Reserve Command. It is home to the Georgia Army National guard’s Army Aviation Service Facility #2, as well as Marine and Navy Reserve units. Formerly Dobbins Air Force Base, the name was officially changed in 1992.
Dobbins Air Reserve Base is located on the southeastern side of Marietta, just north of Smyrna. Kennesaw State University's Southern Polytechnic College of Engineering and Engineering Technology is located on the north end of the base. To find an apartment near Dobbins Air Reserve Base, look along South Cobb Drive and Delk Road. The communities of Fair Oaks and Brandl Cove are located on either side of the base. Also consider Smyrna, Marietta, and the communities of Village Green and Williams Park.
