In addition to Port Royal, Beaufort is a short commute from Parris Island. Beaufort is a beautiful historic city famous for its antebellum architecture. The city was incorporated in 1711 and has been named the “Best Small Southern Town” by Southern Living and a “Top 50 Adventure Town” by National Geographic. With a major portion of the town (over 300 acres) designated a National Historic Landmark, Beaufort is a scenic city with a long history.
