Fulton Neighborhood

Bordering scenic Lake Harriet, Fulton is a quiet Minneapolis community in the 55410 zip code area. Located in Hennepin County, Fulton is bounded by West 47th Street on the north and West 54th Street on the south. France Avenue creates its western border, and Penn Avenue South is Fulton’s boundary on the east. The northeastern corner of this lakeside community is bordered by Lake Harriet and Lake Harriet Parkway.

If bordering Lake Harriet doesn’t provide enough outdoor excitement for Fulton residents, there are also a handful of fields and parks in and around the neighborhood, including Lynnhurst Field, Lynnhurst Park, York Park, and Arden Park. Pershing Park, located within the neighborhood boundaries, offers a playground, baseball and softball fields, seasonal soccer fields, tennis courts, basketball court, walking path, and wading pool. An indoor recreational center on site offers arts and crafts, meeting rooms, kitchen, and restrooms. Programs for area residents are also offered here.

The Edina Country Club and Golf Course is just a few minutes west at 5100 Wooddale Avenue. Minikahda Club and Golf Course, as well as Lake Calhoun, are also just a few miles north of Fulton.

Public schools serving the Fulton community include Lake Harriet Community School, which has an upper and lower campus, and Southwest Senior High School. Several private, religiously affiliated schools also serve the area, as do a few Pre-K programs.

In addition to the residential aspect of Fulton, there are also more than 100 businesses serving this neighborhood. While residents are in close proximity to all that the city of Minneapolis has to offer, there are enough service providers and businesses in Fulton that shopping locally is almost always an option. Major names include Anthropologie, Blockbuster, Curves, Caribou Coffee, Papa John’s, Subway, and UPS, but many other retailers and service providers also operate in the immediate area.
