Minneapolis at a Glance
Uptown Neighborhood
Arguably the hippest neighborhood in Minneapolis, Uptown draws a crowd of artsy, intellectual folks looking for apartments where they will have plenty to see and do. Although Uptown is considered primarily commercial, you’ll find plenty of Uptown apartments for rent — many within walking distance of trendy shops, cafes, and clubs.
You’ll find a variety of bars, restaurants, cafes, coffee shops, book and music stores, clothing stores, and specialty stores in Uptown. You’ll also find an improv comedy theater and two movie theaters dedicated to independent films. The Walker Community Library in Uptown is located underground at Lagoon Avenue and Hennepin Avenue. Above the library sits a small park and large metal letters that spell out “library,” somewhat reminiscent of the famous Hollywood sign.
Bounded by 28th Street on the north, 31st Street on the south, Lake Calhoun on the west, and DuPont Avenue on the east, Uptown is located in the 55408 zip code area, within Hennepin County. The Uptown Theater (formerly the Lagoon) is considered the center of the community.
Although Uptown is best known for shopping, entertainment, and dining, it’s also just a few blocks from Lake Calhoun, which offers plenty of outdoor fun. This popular destination has three beaches, fishing docks, playing fields, hiking and biking trails, and a picnic area, among other amenities. No need to use the pay parking lot if you live in an apartment in Uptown because you’re just a few blocks away from the shore!
One of the cultural events that brings the artistic crowd to Uptown is the annual Uptown Art Fair, which invites artists from around the world to sell their work. There is something for every budget at this popular event, with prints ranging from under $10 to original paintings that sell for thousands of dollars. Once you’ve found the ideal Uptown apartment, you’ll love having this — and a variety of other events — to enjoy.

About Our Deals
Apartment Finder utilizes the industry's largest and most complete database of real-time rents and availabilities to help you find an amazing deal on your next rental.
Price Drop
Apartment communities change their rental rates often - sometimes multiple times a day. We track the changes and keep you up to date when a rental rate decreases.
Best Value
"Best value" units are located in buildings rated three stars or higher. We label apartment rentals that are priced significantly less than similar high-quality units nearby.
Rent Specials
Apartment communities regularly advertise deals for new residents. Whether it's a move-in special or a free tv, we locate the rentals that offer a little something extra when you sign your lease.
Note: Based on community-supplied data and independent market research. Subject to change without notice.
