Mt Airy Neighborhood

Mt. Airy is a neighborhood near downtown St. Paul and is situated within Ramsey County. The ZIP code for Mt. Airy is 55130. The neighborhood extends past Pennsylvania Avenue East on the north and University Avenue East on the south. It is bounded by Jackson Street on the west and Interstate 35E/US Highway 10 on the east. Valley Playground, which constitutes a significant chunk of the neighborhood, is situated in the southwest corner. Franklin Elementary School is located in the same area.

Just on the other side of Mt. Airy’s southern boundary is Regions Hospital. Also in the area are Healtheast Care-Bethesda Hospital and United Hospital. To the west of Mt. Airy is the Capitol neighborhood, in which the Minnesota State Capitol and the Minnesota Supreme Court Building are located.

The neighborhood doesn’t have a great many businesses or entertainment options within its boundaries. However, a short drive along the major roadways that border Mt. Airy brings residents to the riverfront area of St. Paul. This section offers some of the most popular cultural and educational attractions in the Twin Cities area. Here, visitors can take in concerts, hockey games, high school volleyball tournaments, Disney On Ice performances, and other events at the Xcel Energy Center. The Fitzgerald Theatre, the St. Paul River Centre, the Landmark Center, and the Ordway Center for the Performing Arts all offer performances and and other events.

Other destinations include the Minnesota Children’s Museum, the Minnesota History Center, and the Science Museum of Minnesota. These area museums offer both permanent and transient exhibitions designed for both children and adults. The St. Paul Central Library is located along the riverfront as well. The area also hosts several restaurants, hotels, and other businesses.
