Sterling Acres Neighborhood

Sterling Acres is a neighborhood in Kansas City, Missouri, in the 64133 zip code. Its boundaries are East US Highway 40 on the northeast, I-70 on the north, Sterling Avenue on the west, East 47th Street on the south, and South Crysler Avenue on the east. The vast majority of this area is residential, but there are nearby commercial enterprises north of 43rd Street and along 47th Street. On the residential streets, trees overhang the road and yards are spacious. This is a long-established area of single-story homes, many of which are at least 50 years old. There is public transportation available.

The Ridgewood Shopping Center, located in the northeastern corner of the neighborhood, has several stores and restaurants, plus a Starbucks. There is also a Lowe’s Home Improvement Center in the northwestern area.

Sterling Acres Baptist Church is located on 43rd Street. This is an active church in the neighborhood, and it participates in the Angel Food Ministries. Its programs cater to people of every age, from small children at Vacation Bible School to the Life, Love, and Laughter Senior Club.

US News and World Report named Columbia College one of the best regional colleges in the country. It offers associate’s, bachelor’s, and master degrees. It is known for offering an affordable and flexible way to earn a degree.

There are plenty of nearby shopping venues for everyday needs, including a Wal-mart.
