Moscow Mills, MO Apartments for Rent

Roughly an hour northwest of St. Louis, Moscow Mills is located on the Cuivre River, just south of Cuivre River State Park. This popular park features 11 hiking trails, a playground, and activities such as hiking, camping, fishing on Lake Lincoln, swimming, backpacking, bicycling, boating, picnicking, metal detecting, and orienteering.

If you enjoy wide open spaces, convenience to larger metro areas, and an old-fashioned charm in your surroundings, you’ll love renting an apartment in Moscow Mills. Your new place will be well within reach of several historic sites, including the Old Rock House, a Georgian-style home that was built in 1818. It was built by Shapley Ross, the first permanent settler to the area in 1818. The Old Rock House was constructed from native limestone and shows off its amazing stonework masonry. The restored house is currently home to the Lincoln County Genealogical Society.

Other parks and wilderness areas dot the landscape around Moscow Mills, especially along the river. The parks include Sandy Island Conservation Area, Batchtown State Fish and Waterfowl Management Area, Clarence Cannon National Wildlife Refuge, and Cuivre Island Conservation Area.

The neighboring city of Troy is the county seat of Lincoln County, and many residents commute the four miles for work. Residents can also shop or dine in the historic downtown or visit the area sites.
