Baden Neighborhood

The family-friendly neighborhood of Baden lies just east of the banks of the Mississippi River, within the city of St. Louis. One of the popular attractions in this Missouri community is Hickey Park. Named after David Hickey, the first person from St. Louis to give his life in World War I, this 16-acre park was dedicated in 1941 and sits on the eastern border of Baden. It contains the David Hickey Memorial.

Hickey Park’s basketball court, soccer fields and baseball fields make it a favorite spot of Baden sports fans. Younger residents and their guests can enjoy the playground or just relax in the comfort station.

There is only one school within the boundaries of Baden, River Roads Lutheran School, which serves children from preschool to eighth grade.

Residents of the Baden neighborhood have quite a few dining options at more than a dozen restaurants in or near the community. Quincy’s Soul Food offers the Taste of St. Louis as a specialty. Several pizza restaurants are in the neighborhood, including Imo’s Pizza and Perfecto Pizza. Baden’s many fast-food restaurants offer a quick option for meals.

In addition to a variety of restaurants, the Baden neighborhood offers two bars. Playboy Cappuccino bridges the gap between a restaurant and a bar. This hometown pub is known for its delicious food, which is served in very generous portions. The Plaza Concrete nightclub provides a change of atmosphere for those visiting the center of Baden.

In addition to local attractions, Baden residents have easy access to all the cultural features of metropolitan St. Louis.
