Green Park Neighborhood
Green Park lies in southwest St. Louis. The community counts as a city under the local political structure of the greater metropolitan area. Despite its city status, it consists of only one and a half square miles of residential and commercial buildings, all centered around Clydesdale County Park. Most of the homes here are single-family, detached units whose styles vary greatly.
Green Park is bordered on the west by Tesson Ferry Road and on the south by Lindbergh Boulevard. Interstate 55 serves as the eastern border, and on the north by both Clydesdale County Park and Green Park Industrial Drive. The community is centrally located at the intersection created by Interstates 55, 270, and 255, allowing residents to easily reach commercial districts like South County Center and the Central City South Shopping Center, which contain all the amenities and services residents might need.
Clydesdale County Park is the premier recreation spot in the area. It attracts residents from the community and beyond. The neighborhood also boasts Bohrer County Park and Union Road County Park, two smaller but also popular parks just outside the officially designated borders of the community.
Green Park is well known for the community activities available to residents throughout the area. Each year, residents enjoy the annual Christmas Party. “Senior Bingo” brings many of the area’s older residents out for a night of socializing and gaming.
The Green Park community’s medical needs are served by St. Anthony’s Medical Center. Local educational facilities include St. Simon the Apostle School and Victory Christian School.
