Mount Pleasant Neighborhood
Mount Pleasant is a small, primarily residential neighborhood in St. Louis, Missouri. It’s bordered to the north by Meramec Street. The Mississippi River forms its picturesque eastern border. Virginia Avenue and Delor Street form the west and south boundaries, respectively.
The four-acre Mount Pleasant Park is the centerpiece of the community. It’s known as the home of the St. Louis Bike Polo team. It offers open parkland, a ball field, hockey rink, and playground. Marquette Park is less than a half-mile to the north. It has a soccer field, playground, and two softball fields.
Mount Pleasant is known as a family-friendly community for many reasons, including its several area public and private schools. Confluence Academy, a public school, is less than a half-mile to the northwest. Meramec Elementary is less than a half-mile to the northeast. Cleveland High School, St. Luke’s Lutheran School, and St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church School are all within a half-mile radius of the neighborhood.
Area educational opportunities that take one beyond the classroom include the Virginia House, a renowned art museum, which is a half-mile northwest. Demenil Mansion, a historical museum, is a mile and a half northeast. The one-of-a-kind Miniature Museum of the Greater St. Louis Area is about two miles to the west.
Mount Pleasant is a haven for higher-education students. The Lutheran School of Nursing is a mile northeast. St. Louis University is a little under three miles to the north, and Brookes Bible Institute is a mile north of the neighborhood.
