The boundaries of the neighborhood are East Cragmont Street to the north, South Valleyview Avenue to the east, East Galloway Street to the south, and South Luster Avenue to the west. A very attractive neighborhood, it has single-family detached homes on spacious yards with an abundance of trees. The neighborhood is quiet, and there are sidewalks to encourage leisurely strolls.
Primrose Marketplace is adjacent to the neighborhood. This is a great local shopping center with a good selection of shops, including Marshall’s, Best Buy, Shoe Carnival, JoAnn Fabric, TJ Maxx, and Bed, Bath and Beyond. There are also several dining options, including Cheddar’s, Golden Corral, and many children’s favorite Chuck e Cheese. Also close by is a Clarion Hotel and Conference Center, convenient for visitors to the area on pleasure or business trips.
Battlefield Mall is located at the corner of Battlefield Road and Glenstone Avenue. This is not far from where the battle of Wilson Creek took place during the Civil War, and it is also close to Mission Hills. Battlefield Mall is the largest mall in southwest Missouri. With over 150 stores, restaurants, and services available, there is sure to be something to please everyone. The mall is anchored by Macy’s and J.C. Penney’s.
Just a short distance to the southeast of Mission Hills is Sequiota Park. At 28 acres, this is a good-sized park with many amenities. The Galloway Greenways Trail winds for several miles through the park. There are abundant trees and opens spaces, as well as picnic tables and grills. Children will enjoy the playground and the duck pond. There are three caves located in the park that can be explored, adding to the excitement of a visit to Sequiota Park in the Mission Hills, Springfield area.
