One part of this Missouri neighborhood also extends to the west side of South Fort Avenue, from South Grant Street to West Catalpa Street, and then from West Catalpa Street to nearby Kansas Expressway.

The neighborhood boasts homes and buildings featuring several different architectural styles. Historic Victorian homes, quaint bungalows, and classic brick apartment homes are scattered throughout the community. The West Central neighborhood is home to about 6,575 residents.

Among West Central’s features is its proximity to schools, parks, businesses, hospitals, and the downtown area. The closest parks are Hawthorne Park, with a playground and a basketball court, and Carr Park, off West Grant Street.

Residents have access to two nearby movie theaters. Moxie Cinema is off South Jefferson Avenue, and the Hollywood Theatre College Station is off West College Street.
