Boulder City at a Glance
Boulder City, NV Apartments for Rent
In 1931, a small community developed on the southeastern side of Las Vegas, consisting of workers of the Hoover Dam. First named Boulder Dam, the dam was built along the Colorado River between Arizona and Nevada. Today, that small community has grown into the popular Boulder City, a beautiful city loaded with history, culture, and fun things to do. But unlike most cities in Nevada, there’s no gambling in Boulder Dam – it is one of only two communities in Nevada that prohibit gambling.
Of course, that doesn’t mean there aren’t gambling locations. The Hacienda Hotel and Casino is located in the Lake Mead National Recreation Area nearby. This resort first opened as Gold Strike Hotel and Casino in 1958. Lake Mead is a beautiful reservoir, popular for boating, fishing, and swimming. The area also contains hiking trails that wind through the desert terrain – three deserts meet in the Lake Mead National Recreation Area: the Sonoran Desert, the Mojave Desert, and the Great Basin Desert.
Rent an apartment in Boulder City and get ready to enjoy amazing adventures. The Grand Canyon National Park, Death Valley National Park, and the Mojave National Preserve are all located within a short drive. Residents and visitors enjoy visiting the Hoover Dam, the Boulder City/Hoover Dam Museum, and the Nevada Southern Railway Museum. For the adventurous, Bootleg Canyon Flightlines offers stunning desert views – just zip along from the mountaintop at more than 50 miles per hour over the desert below.
