Paradise Neighborhood

Paradise is home to Las Vegas’ McCarran International Airport, making it a premier commercial spot for a number of major hotels and casinos, restaurants, museums, and other tourist destinations.

As one of the major census-designated places (CDP) in Clark County, Nevada, this unincorporated urbanized area is where tourists typically begin their Las Vegas trips. Although most tourists, or even locals, spend a good deal of time in Paradise, it doesn’t appear in postal addresses, except areas located along Paradise Road. As an unincorporated city, it is relatively unknown because the United States Postal Service has actually assigned “Las Vegas, NV” as the place name for ZIP codes within Paradise.

Aside from housing much of the Las Vegas Strip and the big Las Vegas hotels like Caesars Palace, Palms Casino Resort, Luxor, Mandalay Bay, Excalibur Hotel and Casino, MGM Mirage, and MGM Grand, Paradise also features prime convention centers including the Las Vegas Convention Center and Mandalay Bay Convention Center. The southern area of the Las Vegas Strip within the Paradise vicinity showcases The Little Church of the West, a historic wedding chapel popular for locals, tourists, and celebrities and is officially registered as a national historic place.

Paradise is also home to the biggest university in Clark County: the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, better known as UNLV. Nearby primary and secondary schools in the vicinity of Paradise include the Paradise Valley Elementary School, Chaparral High School, Valley High School, Del Sol High School, and St. Viator Catholic School.

Living in Paradise provides convenient access to commercial establishments including the Fashion Show Mall, the Boulevard Mall, and Las Vegas Outlet Center. It is also a few minutes away from many popular Asian stores and restaurants. Amidst the hustle and bustle of its tourist-driven economy, Paradise offers residents many state parks, recreation centers, dog parks, and bike paths like those in Paradise Palms, The Bridge at Paradise Valley, and the Paradise Bay Pet Resort.
