Manning Boulevard Neighborhood

Manning Boulevard is a neighborhood in northwest Albany, New York, about three miles from the heart of the downtown area. This residential community consists of single-family homes and duplexes along a single street by the same name. It is bounded by Western Avenue on the west, Winthrop Avenue on the north, Washington Avenue on the east and North Pine Avenue on the south. Lancaster Street crosses the southern portion of the neighborhood. The zip code for Manning Boulevard is 12203, and it is part of Albany County. Area communities include Upper Washington Avenue, Melrose and Beverwyck.

A variety of attractions and amenities surround the Manning Boulevard neighborhood. For outdoor recreation, residents head to nearby Tivoli Park, Swinburne Park, Buckingham Pond Park or Westland Hills Park. Among the amenities at the latter are baseball/softball fields, four tennis courts, a basketball court and playground areas. Additional opportunities for outdoor recreation can be found a few miles south of the Manning Boulevard community at the Capital Hills at Albany public golf course, or adjacent Normanside Country Club, which is a private course.

For convenient local health care, residents of Manning Boulevard are within a few minutes of both St. Peters Hospital and the Albany Medical Center hospital.

Higher education options abound near this community. A few miles northwest of Manning Boulevard is the large University of Albany – SUNY campus. To the southeast, near the downtown area, are The College of St. Rose, SUNY Albany Downtown Campus and The Sage Colleges – Albany Campus. The downtown area also hosts several city parks, the state capitol and the New York State Museum, among other amenities and attractions, and is roughly a seven-minute drive from Manning Boulevard.
