Parks in Monroe County include Black Creek Park, a 1,500-acre park popular for hiking, picnicking, and horseback riding and during the winter months for cross-country skiing, sledding, and snowshoeing. The Genesee Valley Park is located along the Genesee River. The Erie Canal also runs through the park. The park contains two public golf courses.
