Eastside Neighborhood

The Eastside neighborhood of Syracuse, New York, has everything that a nature lover would want to have. It is bounded on the north by Highway 690 and on the west by Highway 81, which connects to the Governor Thomas E. Dewey Thruway. Thus the residents have easy access to all parts of the city and the outlying areas. The Syracuse Hancock International Airport is located just a short distance to the north.

Families in the neighborhood can feel a sense of peace in that the children do not have to travel far to attend school. There is one private school in Eastside for young students in pre-school and Kindergarten. There are five other public schools so that the students of the area can complete their full grade schooling education close to home.

The lake front, which features all kinds of outdoor and water sports, is only a few streets away from Eastside. In addition to the playgrounds in the school yards, there are parks surrounding the neighborhood. Clark Reservation State Park, for example, has a natural waterfall and a program that teaches visitors about ecology and geology. Green Lakes State Park is another one in the area that is very popular with residents and visitors alike. In fact this park receives almost one million visitors a year.

Restaurants abound in the neighborhood making it a simple task to pick up lunch or something for dinner. A very popular activity for the residents is to go out for brunch on the weekends. With two movie theaters on the surrounding streets, it is not difficult at all to see the latest releases on the big screen.

The Eastside neighborhood is a great place to live and raise a family.
