Northside Neighborhood

Northside Syracuse is a large neighborhood about one mile north of downtown and two miles east of Onondaga Lake. Northside is a busy area containing both residential and business areas. Northside contains two historic districts, as well: the North Salina Street Historic District and the Hawley-Green Historic District. St. Joseph’s Hospital is located in Northside and is a major area employer.

Schiller Park is a hilltop park with a pool and spray fountain, baseball diamonds, tennis courts, a basketball court, handball courts, and a playground. Nearby Onondaga Lake Park is a large, lakeside park with marinas, boat launches, and picnic areas. Syracuse Hancock International Airport is four miles north of Northside.
