Charlotte at a Glance
Colonial Village Neighborhood
Colonial Village is a neighborhood in the southern part of Charlotte, North Carolina. It is in a suburban area with plenty of shrubbery. Colonial Village is far enough from Charlotte’s most urban areas to offer a quiet atmosphere, but close enough to offer residents the splendors of city life.
The Colonial Village area offers great educational opportunities, making it a good place to raise children. Both public and private school are in the area. For adults, Queens University of Charlotte is also close by.
Freedom Park is close by to Colonial Village. Freedom is a large park with areas for baseball, basketball, volleyball, soccer, and tennis. The park also offers an open green for picnicking and a large body of water with a path around it that is perfect for walkers, joggers, or bikers.
Another nearby attraction is the Revolution Park Golf Course. This recently renovated golf course is an affordable alternative to the pricey country clubs in the area. Revolution Park offers a nine-hole course, a pro shop, and a full-service snack bar.
Due to the many different shopping centers surrounding the neighborhood, dining and shopping options abound. Village Shopping Center is right next to Colonial Village, offering residents dining and shopping options that are both within walking distance. Dilworth Crossing Shopping Center is a little further away, but offers shoppers a much larger variety of stores and restaurants.
