Double Oaks Neighborhood

Double Oaks is a neighborhood located just outside the center of Charlotte, North Carolina and is encompassed by the 28206 zip code. Double Oaks offers numerous forms of housing consisting of apartments, townhomes and single residence homes.

The Double Oaks neighborhood is a perfect place for college kids at Johnson C. Smith to reside as it offers them a place to live off campus without being too far off campus. Walking generally isn’t the best option to get to class so most residents of Double Oaks drive to the campus.

The Double Oaks neighborhood is very close to downtown Charlotte which makes it easy to enjoy the historical activities within. The number of tours that can be taken in the downtown area is overwhelming. The tours can range from historical to ghost tours, and the means of travel for the tours varies. There are Segway, biking, walking and bus tours to accommodate any interest.

The downtown area is also home to such venues as the Bechter Museum of Modern Art and the NASCAR Hall of Fame. Both of these venues offer exhibits within their own focus and special shows that go on throughout the entire year. They also have their own gift shops.

There are many shopping locations disbursed throughout the Double Oaks neighborhood. In the Charlotte art district, the Boulevard at NoDa is filled with different shops owned by artists selling what they have created. The Northlake Mall is a popular shopping mall in the area that features over 150 and a Looney Toons Play Area for the children.
