North Charlotte Neighborhood

North Charlotte is a small, primarily residential neighborhood of Charlotte, North Carolina. It’s bordered by North Davidson Street, East 36th Street, Matheson Avenue, and The Plaza. There are several types of single-family, detached homes in the small neighborhood, including Mediterranean style and single-story, ranch style homes.

North Charlotte is a very family-friendly community. Families can often been seen walking along its tree-lined streets, and the neighborhood is within walking distance of some of the best schools in all of Charlotte. The Highland Mill Montessori School is actually located within North Charlotte and is known for high scholastic achievements. Kids University, Plaza Road School, Student First Academy, and Agape Children’s Academy are all excellent schools within walking distance.

The neighborhood of North Charlotte is also popular among college students. The New Life Theological Seminary is in the neighborhood. Kings College and Central Piedmont Community College are about only two miles southwest of North Charlotte.

Educational and cultural opportunities in the area extend far beyond the classroom. The Historic Rosedale Plantation is less than a mile north of the neighborhood. It provides an accurate, well-preserved glimpse into the lives of wealthy slaveowners in Charlotte during the 19th century. The Charlotte Museum of History is only two miles from the neighborhood and provides a well-rounded series of exhibits.

Many wealthier residents of North Charlotte belong to the Charlotte Country Club, which is only a mile southeast of the community. In addition to its sprawling golf courses and clubhouse, the Charlotte Country Club also offers tennis courts and a fitness center.
