Park Crossing Neighborhood

The wandering streets and all-brick homes of Park Crossing continue to make this area one of the most popular neighborhoods in South Charlotte. The active neighborhood is known for its many family-oriented events and its active homeowners association, women’s club, and recreation club.

The neighborhood was developed in the 1980s with large, primarily two-story homes on lots sized at between one-third and one-half acre. Many houses have big decks or screened-in porches that overlook picturesque backyards filled with tall trees. The houses are built in a traditional style, and most have at least four bedrooms.

Park Crossing is bordered by Park Road on the east and Sharon Road West on the north, and it encompasses zip code 28210. Residents enjoy walking along the neighborhood’s quiet streets, but a bit of a drive is usually required to reach the area’s desirable amenities.

The neighborhood’s proximity to major thoroughfares, including I-485 and Highway 51, make it a favorite for residents looking for a convenient and quick commute. It is close to Carolina Place Mall, one of Charlotte’s most popular shopping destinations, and Carolinas Medical Center – Pineville, which is surrounded by private medical practices.

Many Park Crossing residents belong to the Park Crossing Recreation Club, which offers a pool, tennis courts, sand volleyball courts, and a playground within a walk or bike ride from most neighborhood homes. The club’s active social committees plans events throughout the year for all ages. Golfers enjoy the Quail Hollow Country Club, home of an annual PGA tournament, and the nearby McMullen Creek Greenway offers miles of wide trails through marshes and woodlands.
