Sardis Forest Neighborhood

Filled with mature trees, rolling slopes, and large lots, Sardis Forest is a peaceful oasis in bustling southeast Charlotte. Most of the 586 houses in Sardis Forest were built by the William Trotter Company in the 1970s and 1980s. While several original homeowners remain, this well-established neighborhood has become a magnet for families with children.

The houses in Sardis Forest encompass a range of styles, but most have open floor plans and are on lots at least one-third of an acre. Many houses have large decks, perfect for enjoying North Carolina’s mild weather. The neighborhood is situated in Charlotte and Matthews, but it is zoned for the same elementary, middle, and high schools. The neighborhood is bordered by Sardis Road, Sardis Road North, and Monroe Road, and encompasses ZIP copes 28270 and 28105.

Sardis Forest’s winding streets are lined with sidewalks, and walking around the neighborhood is a popular pastime. The neighborhood has its own park, and keys are available to HOA members. Many residents also join the Sardis Forest Swim & Tennis Club, which offers swim teams, private lessons, and a large deck.

The neighborhood is ideally situated between Highway 51 and Monroe Road, giving residents easy access to I-485. Just a short drive away are the Galleria Shopping Center, Crown Point Stadium 12 movie theater, and Sardis Crossing Shopping Center, as well as the many outdoor shops along Independence Boulevard.

The 9-mile McAlpine Greenway, one of Charlotte’s most popular recreation areas just minutes away from Sardis Forest. Cyclists, runners, walkers, and families flock to the greenway when the weather is nice. Athletes young and old enjoy practicing on the sports fields at nearby Boyce Park, which also has lengthy walking trails and two playgrounds. Sardis Park with a great playground, picnic area, and open field, is just down Sardis Road.
