Cypress Point Neighborhood

Roughly 35 miles west of downtown Charlotte, North Carolina, on the southeast side of Gastonia, sits the Cypress Point neighborhood. Located west of Beaty Road and just east of Gaston Day School Road, this picturesque community is entirely residential. Several dozen single-family homes can be found here, situated on spacious lots and nestled among mature shade trees.

The quiet streets of this community include Firethorn Court, Carolina Cherry Court, Tea Olive Drive, Golden Bell Drive, and Yellow Jasmine Drive. Cypress Point falls within Gaston County, encompassing the 28056 zip code area. Nearby communities include Maple Leaf to the north and Kinmere to the east.

Two prominent attractions are located immediately west of this community: the Gaston Municipal Airport and Gastonia Country Club. More affluent residents of Cypress Point may belong to the country club, which dates back to 1919 and offers a beautiful 18-hole course. Like many fine country clubs, Gastonia’s is a popular venue for events and parties and also offers a swimming pool, fitness facilities, tennis courts, and dining options.

For local shopping, residents of this subdivision don’t have to drive far. Two miles to the west, along NC Highway 274, there are located several retail centers, including the Forest Brook and Robinwood Crossing shopping centers. In addition to a supermarket, these retail centers also offer several dining options and specialty shops. The Gaston County Family YMCA, a popular destination for indoor recreation and family fun, can also be found in this area.

For more to see and do, residents of Cypress Point are just a short drive from downtown Gastonia, which offers much more in the way of shopping, dining, entertainment, and cultural attractions.

Schools near Cypress Point include Gaston Day School on nearby Gaston Day School Road, W.A. Bess Elementary School on Beaty Road, and Forestview High School on Union Road.
