Piedmont Hills Neighborhood

The Piedmont Hills neighborhood of Greensboro, North Carolina is bordered on the south by West Florida Street and on the west by South Chapman Street. West Lee Street marks the northern boundary of the neighborhood and South Aycock Street is the eastern border. Piedmont Hills sits in the 27403 zip code in Guilford County.

The Piedmont Hills neighborhood lies south of the University of North Carolina-Greensboro Campus and Greensboro College. Many college students choose off-campus housing in Piedmont Hills. Many homes in Piedmont Hills date from the early 1900s, and there is a wide range of home styles and sizes. Prices range from $40,000 to $250,000. Piedmont Hills has extensive sidewalks with ramps for wheel chairs, strollers and bikes.

The neighborhood is near Interstate 40/421, which makes it easy to get to all Greensboro locations. Other landmarks include Coliseum Shopping Center on W Florida Street and the Four Seasons Town Center. The Wesley Long Community Hospital is on West Friendly Avenue and just a short distance away.

The Greensboro Coliseum is just blocks from Piedmont Hills. The Coliseum features many attractions including basketball games, symphony performances, cars shows, figure skating championships and much more.

Neighborhood parks include Lindley Park, which offers a pool, lessons and a competitive swim team, and Main Street Park. Gillespie Park is a public course maintained by the city of Greensboro. It offers 9 holes with an additional set of tees so that golfers can play 18 holes. The course is noted for its beautiful oak and hardwood canopy.

Privately owned Starmount Country Club was established in 1930 and features golf, an Olympic swimming pool, tennis courts and a fitness center. Membership is required. The club is just 5 minutes from downtown Greensboro.
