Skybrook Neighborhood

Skybrook is a subdivision built within Skybrook Golf Club in Huntersville, a suburb north of Downtown Charlotte, North Carolina. Nearby major thoroughfares include Davidson-Concord Highway/Route 73 to the north, I-77 and Governor James G. Martin Freeway/I-485 to the west, and I-85 to the southeast. Its boundaries include Harris Road on the southeast and Linksland Drive on the northwest. The backyards face the golf course. This is an ideal neighborhood for walking and riding bikes, as there are sidewalks along all the streets.

The neighborhood parks are Wallace Park, which has a playground, walking paths and a lake, and Central Park, which features a playground, picnic area, basketball courts, and a soccer field.

Outside of Skybrook, other parks and recreational areas abound. Bradford Park, which is north of Skybrook, features five ball fields, three soccer fields, and picnic areas.

Southwest of Skybrook is Latta Plantation Nature Preserve on Mountain Island Lake, which has 18 miles of hiking and horseback riding trails, canoeing, and kayaking. It also offers jonboat rentals, an equestrian center, an interpretive center, the Carolina Raptor Center, tours of Latta Plantation, and a gift shop. The nature preserve is pet-friendly.

Shopping, dining, and entertainment areas include several malls south of Skybrook at the intersection of I-85 and Concord Mills Boulevard in Concord. Pavilion at King’s Grant is a shopping center with retailers that include Sports Authority, DSW Shoes, Olive Garden, and Radio Shack. Concord Mills mall includes a Banana Republic, Nike Factory Store, AMC Theatres, and Dave and Buster’s. Outside is a Nascar Speedpark, which includes go-karts, mini golf, a rock wall, laser tag, an arcade, and more.

Just north of the shopping centers is the Concord regional airport. Southeast of the shopping centers is the Charlotte Motor Speedway.
