Outlying East Raleigh Neighborhood

One of the first things anyone notices in Outlying East Raleigh is the trees. They are everywhere. Every street and neighborhood comes with a buffer of mature oak and pine trees surrounding the streets.

Outlying East Raleigh includes the suburb of Knightdale. Although close to major streets, including State Route 64 and Interstate 540, Outlying East Raleigh has the feel of being out in the suburbs.

The streets are wide and designed to accommodate only the neighborhood traffic. Like most of Raleigh, mature trees are a part of the landscape and give the area a shady, country feel. With lots and lots of lawn and green belts, the neighborhood is a good one for anyone who likes to get outside to walk, jog, or ride bikes.

Wake County has many small fishing ponds spread throughout the area making it easy to get the kids out for a couple of hours in the North Carolina afternoons.

North Carolina State University, Duke University, and the University of North Carolina are all within a few miles of Outlying East Raleigh. The NC State Wolf Pack football team packs ‘em in on home games, and the town takes the time for a Carolina Barbecue Tailgate. Fans of college basketball can find no better place to watch the three of the most successful programs in the NCAA. Fans of professional sports can catch the Carolina Hurricanes of the NHL at the RBC Center in Raleigh. The single-A Carolina Mudcats minor league baseball team is a fun and affordable family event in downtown Raleigh.
